World-class Exhibitions and Educational Programming Supported Locally

Museum Awarded Volusia County Cultural Grant

DELAND, FL – OCTOBER 10, 2018 – The Museum of Art – DeLand is pleased to be the recipient of a $66,564 Volusia County Community Cultural Grant. This funding will assist in supporting general programming of the Museum for FY 2018-19.

The Cultural Council for the county is a committee of members appointed by the Volusia County Council who review, rank and recommend the grant requests for consideration and approval. “On behalf of the Museum board of trustees, membership and staff, I would like to thank the members of the Cultural Council and the Volusia County Council for supporting the arts and culture throughout Volusia County,” said Pattie Pardee, director of development for the Museum of Art – DeLand.

According to Pardee, this funding assists in making it possible for the Museum to continue to provide world-class exhibitions and related educational programming to the citizens and visitors to Volusia County.

The Museum’s slate for FY2018-19 includes a dozen new exhibitions and additional works from its permanent collection; the first two of which open this fall, Jim Houser: Retrospective opens Friday, October 26, 2018 at 600 N Woodland Blvd. and Barbara Neijna: Full Circle – Considering Infinity opens Friday, November 2, 2018 at the downtown gallery located at 100 N Woodland Blvd.
