South Florida artist Barbara Neijna brings her fascination with circles to Central Florida this weekend.

Her “Full Circle: Considering Infinity” exhibition opens Friday, Nov. 2, with a reception from 5-7 p.m. at the Museum of Art — DeLand Downtown, 100 N. Woodland Blvd. Admission is $10 and refreshments will be served. Neijna is scheduled to attend.

Containing more than 60 images in various mediums, the exhibition highlights Neijna’s ability to capture the unending nature of the circle, according to museum CEO George S. Bolge.

“Neijna’s art exists between the present and actual and the imminent and possible,” he said in a release. “Her images, as often as not, are in transition from one state to another, from one dimension of reality to another. Reality for this artist is an eternally ongoing process of question and transformation, a dynamic, ever fluctuating series of overlapping images and appearances.”

Now living in Coconut Grove, Neijna received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University in New York and attended graduate school in Spain. She has taught at institutions including the New School of Fine Arts in Miami and the University of Miami. Her work appears in collections at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the Columbus Museum of Art in Ohio and the Sarasota Museum of Art, among others.
