The Outsiders: Gallery Talk and Tour

Self-Taught Artists of the American South

Outsider Art enthusiasts Beth and Greg Milliken will share their 25-year journey of collecting the work of self-taught artists at a gallery talk entitled, “Outsiders: Self-Taught Artists of the American South.”

The Millikens will present an overview of the field of Outsider Art and discuss several of the pieces from their collection currently on display at the Museum. Included in the discussion will be works by Howard Finster, Sybil Gibson, Jimmie Sudduth, and Rudolph Bostic, all esteemed 20th century self-taught artists from the southern United States.  Light refreshments will be served from 5:30 – 6:00 pm with gallery talk and tour from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
