Art Exhibition & Poetry Competition

The Museum of Art DeLand, Creative Happiness Institute, and MainStreet Art & Culture Slam of DeLand are proud to present The 2023 Poetic Visions Art and Poetry Exhibition.

The 2023 Poetic Visions competition sought original pieces by local poets prompted by 40 different works from the Museum of Art – DeLand’s permanent collection. A selection of the submitted poems (one poem per piece of artwork) is displayed next to each piece in this special Ekphrastic art exhibition. From March 31 – May 14, the museum-going public will have a chance to view and vote on the selected poems alongside the artwork they represent, and from May 15 – 29, online Museum followers may vote for their favorite videos of selected works, as well. On Friday, June 2, the Museum will host an Awards Ceremony reception to announce the winner and toast all participants.
