Through the guidance of artist David Fithian, you’ll explore composition, design, color theory, and acrylic techniques. Work on existing projects or start a brand-new series while experimenting with various materials and mediums. The class includes demonstrations, personalized feedback, ongoing critiques, and a supportive environment to create your best work. Unleash your creativity and make your artistic ideas a reality!

Meetings

Session 1: Meets Wednesdays 3/19-4/9, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Session 2: Meets Wednesdays 4/16-5/7, 2:00pm-4:00pm
Meets at 600 N. Woodland Blvd
(Session 1 is encouraged before session 2, but not required)

Materials

Basic acrylic paints, brushes, and canvas are supplied, but students can bring their own materials

Cost

$100 for members/$120 for future members for each 4-week session

David Fithian Bio

David Fithian grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida as a creative child and adolescent. He attended the Art Students League in Woodstock, New York, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. David has taught at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park, the Maitland Art Center, and the Artist’s Workshop in New Smyrna Beach. In addition to teaching he has managed the Graphics Department at Drexel University in Philadelphia, operated a commercial photography and fine art studio, and was the Curator of Art and Exhibitions at the Museum of Art – DeLand from 2001 until retiring in 2020. He maintains an active studio and exhibits his work regularly.
