AWARD WINNING ARTIST SANDY WINTERS EXHIBITION OPENS JANUARY 25th

Museum of Art – DeLand to Host Exhibition of Recent Works by the Mixed Media Artist

DELAND, FL – January 15, 2019 – The Museum of Art – DeLand opens Sandy Winters: Creation and Destruction exhibition on January 25, 2019 at its galleries located in Downtown DeLand, Florida located at 100 N. Woodland Blvd. The Creation and Destruction exhibition will showcase a number of recently completed pieces by Sandy Winters, a New York Foundation for the Arts awarded artist. Winters will be at the Opening Reception to be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Museum’s Downtown Galleries located at 100 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand, Florida.

Sandy Winters: Creation and Destruction will feature contemporary works from Winters, whose career has spanned over four decades. Winters, a nationally-recognized artist with awards from across the country, has a distinct and unique mixed media approach to her art for which she has become synonymous. “Winters’ amalgam of images, both abstract and representational, are uniquely individual, but not obscure or idiosyncratic. Most of all, she has mastered her mixed media approach thoroughly, and she has transmitted a sense of the value of that mastery to all who have experienced her work,” said George S. Bolge, CEO of the Museum of Art – DeLand.

The exhibition will be on view through March 24, 2019. Admission to the Museum is $10, and free for members and children under 12. The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
