Peaks & Valleys
Enter the enchanting world of ceramic artist Taylor Robenalt asĀ she showcases her anthropomorphic porcelain animal, figure, and flora sculptures in this mid-career retrospective at the Museum of Art – DeLand.
Through layered symbolism and narrative form,Ā Robenalt contributes to the evolving conversation surrounding sculptural ceramics, bridging the disciplines of ceramics and sculpture in ways that expand how we understand both.Ā Robenaltās work highlights the power of storytelling, where symbolic forms come together to create a larger narrative of change and transformation.
A professor at Ringling College of Art and Design, Robenalt creates work that is visually accessible and emotionally resonant, encouraging viewers to engage intuitively. This exhibition offers space for reflection, connecting audiences to themes of identity, transformation, and shared human experience. Viewers are encouraged to see their own evolving stories reflected in the work, bridging personal experience with contemporary artistic dialogue.
Robenalt holds a BFA in bronze casting and stone carving from Southern Methodist University and an MFA in ceramics from the University of Georgia.Ā She has been the subject of ten solo exhibits and has participated in over forty international group exhibits.
