Meet the Masters: In this session, students will explore the techniques and styles of important historical artists. They will use a variety of media such as pastel, watercolors, and more to explore art fundamentals and create original artworks.
Visual Storytelling: Students will explore all types of visual storytelling in this session through designing and drawing storyboards, designing 3D characters, and creating stop motion animation on iPads.
Art Around the World: In this session, students will explore techniques and styles of art from diverse cultures around the world. From Japan to South America, this class will create works of art inspired by other countries far and wide.
Pop Art: Studio artists will be all about the food in this 6 week session that reimagines the work of artists such as Wayne Thiebaud and Andy Warhol. Students will explore both 2D and 3D methods to create their own pop art food inspired artworks.
The Artist Toolbox: Texture: Get inspired by artists like MC Escher, Frida Kahlo, Salvatore Dali and Leonardo Davinci as we explore the best methods to make textures a part of your art toolbox. Learn how and where to include texture, shading and highlights. Work in a variety of media, including pen, pencil, colored pencils, charcoal and scratch board.
The Artist Toolbox: Color: Take a deep dive into the ways artists use colors to move your eye across a canvas to capture your undivided attention. Discover the color plan behind a Wayne Thiebaud cake painting, and learn how Picasso uses limited color to give focus to his work. Every artwork begins with a powerful, well-conceived color scheme. Create artwork using colored pencils, pastels, oil pastels and more.
