This discussion  will explore the Abstract Expressionist Art Movement in America featuring first generation Abstract Expressionists artists such as: Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning, Barnett Newman, Franz Kline, and Adolph Gottlieb; and second generation artists such as Kenneth Noland, Ellsworth Kelly, Helen Frankenthaler, Grace Hartigan, Elaine de Kooning, Lee Krasner and Joan Mitchell.

Join us as we explore selected artists, art styles and movements featured in the Museum’s collection and exhibitions.

Novice and seasoned museumgoers are invited to learn skills and techniques for approaching artworks, including careful visual observation, the language of art, and an understanding of how viewers interact with the work and vice versa.

We each bring our own experiences and perspectives to a work of art, and this session will focus on expanding and enhancing the way you see your world through art.  What new perspectives you will gain?

The presentation will conclude with a tour and discussion of the current exhibition, Grace Hartigan: Retrospective.

Image shown here is a  part of the current exhibition. Its title is
