About This Event

Camp Create at the Museum of Art – DeLand is back for Summer 2026! Our 6-week summer camp program will be available for 6-12 year olds from June 8th – July 24th. Camp Create runs Monday-Friday from 9:00-4:00.

This summer, Camp Create student artists dive into a new art adventure each week! They’ll explore hands-on 2D and 3D projects, enjoy two daily art sessions, and take breaks for snacks, lunch, and games. Small groups ensure personalized attention, and no prior art experience is needed.

The themes change each week so Campers may register for more than one session. No previous art-making experience necessary! Visits to the Museum’s galleries will enhance the educational experience and provide additional motivation and inspiration.

Camp Create 2026 Schedule

Week #1 Pop Art Palooza Week

June 8th-12th

Join us for Pop Art Palooza Week, where color and creativity shine! Throughout the week, campers will dive into the world of Pop Art, learning how to transform everyday images into bold, graphic masterpieces inspired by famous artists like Andy Warhol and Keith Haring. Using bright paints, prints, and patterns, kids will experiment with color, repetition, and design to make their own pop-inspired creations.

Week #2 Glow Week

June 15th-19th

Glow Week is all about lighting up your creativity! Campers will explore a radiant world of black lights, neon colors, and glow-in-the-dark paint to make art that truly shines. Inspired by bright and playful artists like Yayoi Kusama, Jen Stark, and Keith Haring, each day will bring a new glowing adventure. From sparkling galaxies and disco balls to luminous lava lamps and neon tie-dye, get ready for a week that glows with imagination!

Week#3 3D Art Week

June 22rd-26th

Step off the flat page and bring your art to life in 3D art Week! Campers will explore how 3D art fills space and plays with light and shadow using air-dry clay, carving tools, and papier-mâché. They’ll create reliefs, assemblages, and imaginative sculptures inspired by artists like Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Dubuffet, and Nick Cave. Get ready to build, mold, and shape your ideas in every dimension!

Week #4 Palette & Pencil Week

July 6th-10th

Palette & Pencil Week invites young artists to explore the fun of drawing and painting in all kinds of styles! Campers will experiment with pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylics while learning key skills like shading, blending, and perspective. Inspired by creative artists like Georgia O’Keeffe, Henri Matisse, and Faith Ringgold, they’ll discover new ways to express their artistic voice!

Week #5 Comic Craze Week

July 13th-17th

Comic Craze is an imaginative week where campers become comic artists and storytellers! Students will learn character design, speech bubbles, panel layouts, action scenes, and styles like classic comics and manga. By the end of the week, they’ll create their own mini-comic or graphic story to share!

Week #6 Urban Expressions Week

July 20st-24th

Students will dive into the exciting world of street Art as they explore graffiti, stenciling, murals, and sticker art. Campers will have the opportunity to design and “tag” their own creations. Join us this week and learn more about the styles and techniques used by street and mural artists in urban settings, such as Mina Hamada and BEZT (Etam Cru), and how they bring life to our cities.
