DESCRIPTION:Experience the art of storytelling and literature at the Museum of Art – DeLand. With book read-alongs and reflection\, group sing-alongs\, and discovery of the artwork within our galleries\, Art Lovers Discover is a program that fosters a fresh desire in young children to connect with art in various forms. Each gathering will have a different storybook and focus. Kids aged 6 and under and their guardians are invited to join us for this uniquely immersive experience. \nSessions will meet at 10:30 a.m. once a month at our 600 N. DESCRIPTION:Class Description\nDiscover the endless possibilities of acrylic painting in this dynamic\, hands-on class. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist\, this course is designed to help you bring your creative vision to life—whether in abstract or realistic styles. Through the guidance of artist David Fithian\, you’ll explore composition\, design\, color theory\, and acrylic techniques. Work on existing projects or start a brand-new series while experimenting with various materials and mediums. The class includes demonstrations\, personalized feedback\, ongoing critiques\, and a supportive environment to create your best work. Unleash your creativity and make your artistic ideas a reality! \nMeetings\nSession 1: Meets Wednesdays 3/19-4/9\, 2:00pm-4:00pm\nSession 2: Meets Wednesdays 4/16-5/7\, 2:00pm-4:00pm\nMeets at 600 N. Woodland Blvd\n(Session 1 is encouraged before session 2\, but not required) \nMaterials\nBasic acrylic paints\, brushes\, and canvas are supplied\, but students can bring their own materials \nCost\n$100 for members/$120 for future members for each 4-week session\nRegister online at moartdeland.org\nMaximum 10 students\, for adults and ages 16+ \nDavid Fithian Bio\nDavid Fithian grew up in Daytona Beach\, Florida as a creative child and adolescent. He attended the Art Students League in Woodstock\, New York\, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.  David has taught at the Crealde School of Art in Winter Park\, the Maitland Art Center\, and the Artist’s Workshop in New Smyrna Beach. In addition to teaching he has managed the Graphics Department at Drexel University in Philadelphia\, operated a commercial photography and fine art studio\, and was the Curator of Art and Exhibitions at the Museum of Art – DeLand from 2001 until retiring in 2020.
