SUMMARY:Docent Training Program
DESCRIPTION:Are you an art lover\, history buff\, public speaker\, or people-person? If you answered yes\, then we invite you to apply for our upcoming Docent Training Program. When you train to become a docent\, you’ll enjoy a mini-art history course with our Curator of Education\, Martha Underriner\, who has an MA in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art. The training program will be an 8-week class\, meeting on a select Wednesday each month from 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. \nDocents are a vital link between what’s displayed in the Museum and how visitors respond to what they see. Our docents are a diverse group of volunteers who share a passion for art and the community. They are active\, enthusiastic\, imaginative\, and knowledgeable. Historically\, a docent was a tour guide who talked while visitors listened.
