SUMMARY:Docent Training Program
DESCRIPTION:Are you an art lover\, history buff\, public speaker\, or people-person? If you answered yes\, then we invite you to apply for our upcoming Docent Training Program. When you train to become a docent\, you’ll enjoy a mini-art history course with our Associate Curator of Education\, Martha Underriner\, who has an MA in Art Education and an MFA in Studio Art. The training program will be 8-week consecutive class\, meeting Tuesdays from 10 – 11:30 a.m. starting on September 12 and running through October 31. \nDocents are a vital link between what’s displayed in the Museum and how visitors respond to what they see. Our docents are a diverse group of volunteers who share a passion for art and the community. They are active\, enthusiastic\, imaginative\, and knowledgeable. Historically\, a docent was a tour guide who talked while visitors listened.
