For Ages 6 - 12
The Museum of Art – DeLand’s Studio Artist Class is a course meant to grow students’ abilities technically and conceptually through a focused 4-week series of classes.
Classes meet on Wednesdays from 3:15 – 4:30 p.m. at our 600 N. Woodland Blvd. location and are taught by Curator of Education, Martha Underriner. Students will study elements and principles of art, in-depth techniques, and a variety of artists to inspire their work. Each 4-week session has its own theme and focus, and will change for each class.
Tuition: $60 Members, $65 Non-Members.
10 students maximum per session.
Spring 2023 Schedule
Session 1: 3D Extravaganza
(1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1)
In this session, students will use 3D materials and processes to create three dimensional masterpieces! Students will use air dry clay, paper mache, and more to explore ways to make their artistic visions come to life.
Session 2: Drawing
(2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1)
In this session, students will be learning techniques of drawing and mark making. Students will learn how to draw and grow their skills through using pastels, pencil, charcoal, printmaking, and other materials.
Session 3: Digital Art
(3/29, 4/5, 4/12, 4/19)
Students will be drawing, sculpting, and animating with iPads in this Studio Artist session. Each week we will learn a new technique to create masterful digital art pieces.
